West Wales Raiders add Welsh forward to their ever growing pack for 2020

Merthyr RFC second row decides to switch codes and joins the Raiders.

Jarryd Davies has decided to join Betfred League 1 club West Wales Raiders from welsh premiership side Merthyr RFC.

This will be a big step for Davies who will switch codes for the first time, the 6ft 5 player spoke to the Raiders about his decision “I am grateful for the opportunity to sign for the West Wales Raiders this season. Having played rugby union all my life, most recently with Merthyr RFC,I am looking forward to the new challenge and being able to express myself physically through the game. One of my goals for the season is to be involved weekly within the team, and to hopefully achieve more wins for the Raiders this season. I’m committed to working hard and developing my skills and becoming a better athlete and player this year.”

Head Coach Aaron Wood added “Jarryd’s a very interesting prospect for us this season, at 6ft 5 and 110 kilograms his skill set is built for our new look pack, I’m looking for his ability to offload and his aggression around the park to help bolster or squad this season.”
